The big one: my R/C cars

Okay folks, this is the big one. I have broken down and am selling all my R/C cars and accessories in a single go. I hate to do this, and I wouldn't if I were staying put, but I just do not have room for all this stuff to take it across the country again!

When it came out, the JRx2 was the very top of the line in terms of 2WD off road electric radio control excitement. There was nothing better, and it immediately started taking away the checkered flag from the RC 10. What was even better, the JRx2 did not need a ton of fancy "hop-up" parts to make it competition-worthy. It was a complete competition-worthy set, right out of the box.

Later, I got myself a TL-101 four wheel drive on road car for some parking lot fun. I bought some upgrades for it, but never got around to installing them. I'll miss these guys. They are a ton of fun, but the sad truth is I never get around to taking them out for a spin. It's sad, really, and I hope they find a home where someone will drive them until their gears wear out!

This is a well-used Sunbeam
Mixmaster
.  These mixers are practically
indestructable and I think this particular model has made more cookies
than the Keebler elves.  Comes with the bowl shown in the
picture.

craigslist - Share on OviThis was my grandma's mixer, which I inherited when she passed. It has been a workhorse, but I have a Kitchen Aid Professional 6 now and really have no need for two mixers. I like to bake, but I just don't do it all that much. Still, the Sunbeam is a cool mixer because you can detach the head (I didn't know this for a long, long time) and use it as a -kinda heavy- hand mixer.

Return of the Green Machine

It's been a while. I'm about to sell stuff again, so maybe more pictures in the future. However, the other day, I was walking around Toys R Us (just for fun on the way to the nextdoor grocery store, but I did buy an ice cream) and noticed an old blast from the past.

That's right, it's the Green Machine!! A blast from the past that John and I were actually just talking about a month ago in Gainesville (sadly Margaret never had one and didn't know what we were talking about). The Green machine was a great toy. It was like a Big Wheel, but, well, it was green, with an adjustable seat, and a handbrake that allowed for super-spinouts. The wheels were plastic, of course, and I remember wearing holes in both the one with the brake and the larger wheel.

It looks like this updated model has two brakes, which looks to be a ton of fun. They should really make a version for adults. Kind of like a tricked-out version of a recumbent bike.

Construction Workers on Strike!

Well, they must be on strike; all their materials seem to have disappeared and they aren't getting much done. Sad little worker minifigs. They just aren't as productive as they used to be.

So, I have to get rid of them.

It makes me sad that I can't keep and play with these fun little things from way back. Well, at least I'll be made a bit happier by the $100 in my pocket for getting rid of them. I will be even happier when I get to the liquor store and turn that C-note into liquid fun.

Main Street for sale

Time for another installment of Selling My Childhood. I've actually been on a rampage since the beginning of the year and have nearly finished ridding my house of all my old Lego sets. But I haven't posted them!

These were great in their day, I had vast megalopolises and corporate power beyond measure all wielded by tiny minifigs doing their thing. Although my castle system is long gone (I'll track down photos and post later, hopefully), Main Street, the hub of the Lego empire is next on the auction block. Main Street is where the minifigs go to work hard and play hard. Featured in this photo are an upscale garage (servicing only import vehicles) and a fancy five-star hotel getting the finishing touches from the construction crew. You can also see a cowboy pulling up in his Cadillac (I sure hope he doesn't have any car problems, as that garage will not be there to help him out!), and a popcorn vendor ready to fill young minifigs with salty snacks.

The Legos are almost gone. I posted Main Street, a train set, and a partial construction yard yesterday. All I have left now are spare parts.
